Many Christians look forward to Easter, and just as many look forward to the Easter Sunrise Service at Ober Gatlinburg. The tram leading to the service runs at 6:15 a.m. and the service starts at 7 a.m. with a full breakfast at the ski resort's restaurant. This year we celebrate Easter on April 12th! The 59th Annual Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is the big event in Gatlinburg's Springfest. The fact that this tradition is nearly into its 6th decade should give you credence into how much the Wildflower Pilgrimage means to this community. People return year after year simply because they weren't able to do everything the last! Over 100 exhibits and items and lectures and experts and guided hikes and anything remotely educational about the mountains will be available. The Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage is an annual 5-day event in Great Smoky Mountains National Park consisting of a variety of wildflower, fauna, and natural history walks, motorcades, photographic tours, art classes, and indoor seminars. Most programs are outdoors in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, while indoor offerings are held in various venues throughout Gatlinburg, TN. We all know the stereotypes that Spring Break often invites once that magical week is mentioned. Although many may think of a beach break, we highly recommend the
mountain experience.
Sidney James has the strong advantage of location. Just far enough into town to be convenient, not so far into town as to compromise its seclusion and integrity (peace and quiet), within walking distance to restaurants, downtown events, fun stuff, and the National Park entrance. The Sidney James main hotel is in front of a city park, over a small creek, and features its own indoor and outdoor pools, cafe, and suites for those with a group of college friends in attendance.
