As fall arrives in the Smoky Mountains, you can feel a certain chill in the air that can only mean one thing… it must be almost October! While this means fall foliage, seasonal treats and Oktoberfest celebrations, it also signifies the creepy time of year where goblins and ghouls haunt the streets of Gatlinburg. Get your Halloween season started early this year and enjoy a spooky good time at these exciting haunted attractions in Gatlinburg:
Mysterious Mansion
Explore three stories of secret passageways in a terrifying self-guided tour of the Mysterious Mansion! This attraction is the oldest and scariest haunted house in Gatlinburg, complete with an eerie location on River Road. Guests must navigate the house on their own through winding staircases, dark corridors and spine chilling chambers. While on your journey, you never know what residents might be lurking around each corner in the room ahead! The house is designed and decorated in an early 1900’s Victorian style and features an incredible attention to detail. During weekends in October, Mysterious Mansion transforms into special Halloween presentations as the House of Lost Souls.
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure
Take your haunted house experience to the next level at Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, a creepy renovated mansion with live actors hidden throughout the building. The adventure begins with a ride in an old coffin cage that resembles a mine shaft elevator. Once at the top of the building, your tour begins in a single file line with other guests as you enter a spooky funeral chapel. Try not to scream in horror as you encounter special effects, animatronic props and other sinister figures hidden in the dark! Tickets for Ripley’s Haunted Adventure are available on-site or can be purchased in advance with a bundle package that includes other popular Ripley’s attractions.
