People of all ages and heights are welcome and children ages 2 and under can ride for free! Discounts for active and retired military are also available. Up to 3 people can fit in one chair, so you can share the experience with your friends and family! 2. Oktoberfest at Ober Gatlinburg
This popular and beloved event is perfect for visitors of all ages, complete with entertainment, outdoor games and German cuisine. You can look forward to the Bavarian Fun Makers Oompah Band, who have multiple daily performances. They dress in authentic lederhosen while performing traditional Bavarian folk dances, sing-a-longs and more! A Biergarten will be open for beer samples to those who are 21 and over, with different breweries being featured each weekend. You can also choose from a variety of Oktoberfest souvenirs in the outdoor vendor tent.
3. Attend the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair
Voted one of the Southeast’s “Most Popular Events,” the Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair is something you don’t want to miss. Top artisans from all across the United States gather here in October. The fair is one of the more unique things to do in Gatlinburg because you can observe and learn from the artists as they demonstrate their special skills. This event is often more popular than its summer counterpart mainly due to the increase in Christmas shopping. No surprise there! This is the perfect place to pick up handcrafted products and one-of-a-kind gifts for the holidays.
4. Haunted Houses
For one of Gatlinburg’s most terrifying attractions, visit Mysterious Mansion! This victorian-style haunted house offers self-guided tours where spooky surprises await you. Their Halloween tours have a new and exciting theme every year that will keep you on your toes. This attraction is recommended for a more mature crowd but children under the age of 5 can enter for free. For spooky fun more suited for the little ones, stop by Ripley’s Haunted Adventure! Children must be at least 6 years old to participate. There are live actors lurking around every corner. Both of these haunted houses are open year round, so enter if you dare!
